We have some disappointing news — the 2025 Technovation World Summit will be held virtually.
The reality is that Technovation relies on the generous support of funders to do this work, and recent shifts in U.S. federal priorities have changed the funding landscape, requiring Technovation to reduce our 2025 budget. Additionally, recent issues with travel to the U.S. have raised significant safety concerns about minors from around the world flying to the World Summit in California.
Due to these financial changes and the uncertainty around travel and visas, we will be holding the 2025 Technovation World Summit virtually on Friday, September 19. While we are deeply disappointed to miss gathering in person, finalists will still have the incredible opportunity to pitch to VIP judges, and we will still identify a grand prize winner. Additionally, all finalists will still receive their full monetary prizes.
We are deeply saddened by this change and hope to resume the in-person summit in 2026, in a location that is safe for all to travel to.
We also know that the potential to fly to in-person World Summit is a big motivator for many teams, but believe there is still great value in submitting your projects! You get to practice presentation and public speaking skills, feel the satisfaction of having completed a daunting task, and will receive feedback from judges.
We want to emphasize that Technovation remains committed to our mission to empower girls around the world. We deeply value every single member of this community and are steadfast in our work to make sure girls everywhere have access to transformative tech education experiences.
