We are thrilled to announce that TAIFA has officially partnered with two remarkable organizations: Responsible AI UK (RAi UK) and Saïd Business School. Welcoming these two organizations to our growing ecosystem of partners enhances the strength and relevance of the alliance in two key areas: AI ethics and higher education. TAIFA has spent its inaugural year carefully curating diverse partnerships with experts from around the world and the addition of RAi UK and Saïd Business School will further support our mission to reach, educate, and support the next generation of female leaders and tech innovators.
Strengthening Responsible AI with RAi UK
RAi UK, a consortium of experts from leading UK universities, is dedicated to developing trustworthy AI. This partnership will enhance TAIFA’s ability to equip young innovators with the skills necessary to identify misinformation and think critically about ethical issues when using AI. Powered by experts who have successfully lobbied the EU to adopt Responsible AI guidelines, this collaboration will enable us to develop and co-design learning modules that empower girls to become Builders of Better AI.
“I am so excited about this partnership between TAIFA and RAi! This is the sort of partnership that brings the mission of RAi alive and places responsible research at the heart of the education reaching girls and women who are joining the AI workforce.” said Sana Khareghani, RAi Ambassador. “Responsibility cannot be an add on. If we want technical solutions that we can all benefit from, responsibility must be something that is weaved throughout the process of development starting with education.”
Giving Young Innovators a Step Up with Saïd Business School
Our partnership with Saïd Business School is a significant step forward in addressing gender inequality in the higher ed space. Together, TAIFA and Saïd Business School will develop, implement, and certify a cutting-edge curriculum designed for young women aged 18 to 25 who are early in their careers. This online program, which will span 12 hours of asynchronous learning, will focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, and technology, providing participants with resources and skills to excel in their respective fields.
In an incredible win for all TAIFA partners, access to the program will be offered to a global community of young women from across the TAIFA ecosystem, including Generation Unlimited and Grameen Foundation’s alumnae. Applications for the program will open in the fall of 2025, and participants will receive a certificate from Saïd Business School, marking their achievements and commitment to leadership in AI.
Zubaida Bai, CEO of Grameen Foundation, emphasizes the importance of this initiative: “When we equip young women with leadership, entrepreneurial, and technology skills, we are preparing them not only to navigate existing systems but to reimagine and shape them. This partnership is instrumental in fueling that journey, providing young women with the resources, mentorship, and practical experience they need to build inclusive solutions for both immediate and future challenges.”
Kevin Frey, CEO of Generation Unlimited, aptly states, “A fast-changing world demands young people, especially girls, have skills and opportunities to thrive. Generation Unlimited champions inclusive AI to bridge the digital divide and gender gap, helping young people become innovators and entrepreneurs driving green and digital economies.”
Impacting Lives: Stories from the Frontlines
The true essence of our mission comes alive through the stories of our alumnae.
Layali Khatib’s experiences with Technovation started with her app, Motherhood Guide, which utilizes AI to analyze the sounds and movements of newborns. Initially developed as a way to help her mother care for her twin sisters, the app now supports over 10,000 new parents. At just 17, Layali has already delivered a speech at NASA, and represented Palestine in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. She is a Technovation Student Ambassador who mentors other girls to pursue STEM and AI and is also currently pursuing scholarships with the dream of attending MIT.
Our partnerships with Saïd Business School and RAI UK are poised to play a critical role in stories like Layali’s and represent a significant leap forward in TAIFA’s mission.
Together we can not only ensure that the next generation of female leaders and data scientists understand the ethical implications of AI, but also give them a significant head start in their own careers. When powerful organizations join forces we can equip young female innovators around the world with the tech and leadership skills to become the next generation’s builders of better AI.
