Individual Giving

Full time, remote position. [Salary Range: $85,000 – $90,000] 

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an entrepreneurial fundraiser to build out a new Individual Giving program at Technovation. This person will report to the Director of Development and collaborate with staff across the fundraising team. This position is ideal for an energetic self-starter with previous experience in managing individual donor relations, who is looking to take on more responsibility and excited to build a new major gifts strategy. This job requires strong moves-management skills and the ability to cultivate prospects in creative ways, including strategic integration of donors and prospects into programmatic events, volunteer opportunities, special creative campaigns, etc. The role requires a savvy relationship-builder and creative thinker to design and launch unique and effective donor engagement activities.

Technovation has just completed a strategic plan process, which has resulted in ambitious fundraising goals for our Fundraising Team. Historically, the majority of our revenue has come from corporate grants, but we know that we need to grow our Annual Fund and build out a Major Gifts program if we want to achieve our fundraising goals. We are looking to add a new member of our team who is dedicated to individual donors and has experience cultivating gifts ranging from $5,000-$100,000.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • With the support of the Fundraising team and wealth screening tools, builds and manages a portfolio of ~150 major gifts ($10k+) and special gifts ($1,000-$9,999) donors and prospects to raise $1.4 million from individual donors in 2023 (5x growth over 2022).
    • Develops and implements appropriate cultivation and moves management strategies for prospects and donors.
    • Create and present compelling proposals that align with prospect’s interests and financial capacity; ensure donors receive timely and accurate reports on the impact of their giving.
    • Supported by the Development Specialist, Manage donor data in Salesforce and Asana to maintain institutional knowledge, generate timely data to inform strategy, and proactively think of creative cultivation opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Global Events to integrate donor stewardship opportunities into programmatic events, and design creative fundraising events to engage/re-engage donors and prospects.
  • Supports the Director of Development in leveraging board members and their contacts to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Collaborates with the Fundraising and Marketing teams to craft messaging for donor audiences as one part of a multi-pronged marketing strategy.
